Not every athlete wants the same thing out of the college experience. Did you know you could study the oceans, ships, related business, science and technology plus play college football at the same time?
Now your academics still have to be strong, but you can study in Marine Trades at SUNY Maritime. The university has a football program and they actively recruit the region. Virginia is especially attractive to SUNY Maritime because of the ports, the industries, and the predominance of military and government employed parents here.
SUNY Maritime’s training vessel the Empire State VI has arrived at the Port of Norfolk through the weekend. They’re even doing football recruiting events on board.
The university has undergraduate programs in fields such as Electrical Engineering, Global Business and Transportation, Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture.
Head Football Coach Clayton Kendrick-Holmes is coordinating visits and looking for good football players that want an exceptional educational experience.
SUNY Maritime is located near New York City, giving students an excellent opportunity to have an exciting time in college while also carving their own path.
Contact Coach Kendrick-Holmes at SUNY Maritime in order to visit them aboard the Empire State VI while they’re in port. You can reach the coach at [email protected] or connect with him on Twitter at Coach CKH @NYMaritimeFBall.
More information on the academic and athletic programs at SUNY Maritime can be found on their website.
