There’s something to be said about athletes that come out of Old Courthouse. A toughest if you must that demands respect at all costs. Julian Freeze (JR/DE 6-2 190) has been playing football since the age of five and has given Landstown High School three years’ worth of proof to backup anything he’s selling for the Eagles. The rising senior made it out to the recruit757 College Prospect Assessment Camp (CPAC) on Saturday where he was one of many Eagles attempting to avenge a 4- season. Freeze was more than happy with the results he produced.
“It’s a great atmosphere out here today. There’s a lot of player who came out here to compete and work. That’s exactly what I came out here to do today also. Today was mainly an opportunity for me to come out here and get better. All these players came to do that and that’s also what I’m out here to do. I’m at a point in my career where I’m not settling and I want to just keep getting better. I just love the game of football so much, stated Freeze.
Freeze is no stranger to the recruit757 CPAC. He was a top performer of this same camp last season posting numbers near the top in the vertical jump, broad jump, and the pro shuttle. Coming on the scene as a freshman at Landstown Freeze started out on junior varsity. By his sophomore year he’d turned enough heads and not only was bumped up to varsity but was also elevated to a starting role. Freeze believes he’s not the far off from where he needs to be especially based off of his junior campaign. Last year was the second consecutive season in which the Eagles went 4-6. At the same time last season was their best defensive showing over the course of the last three years. Freeze helped solidify an edge rush that held teams to 24 points per game.
“We had a lot of injuries last year especially to some of our big named guys. We went 4-6 last year but we still came out and we still played hard. Players stepped up where they needed to and we were constantly filling spots. With all that being said I am expecting a great season out of my guys regardless” said Freeze.
With improvement comes interest. If that’s true, then interest begets offers which creates options and options are a beautiful thing. Right now the Landstown Eagle is getting interest from Wake Forest University, Old Dominion University, Appalachian State, North Carolina State, and James Madison., and he’s landed scholarship offers from East Carolina and most recently Elon. Freeze continues to remain blessed and humble with the amount of attention continuing to build within his camp.
“I thank my parents for helping me remain humble throughout this process. They’ve raised to a point where I can be humble. I’m prepared to keep working because I definitely know right now I’m not the best. This helps me continue to work hard regardless of the interest”, concluded Freeze.
Progressive reports from the Landstown product indicate that no one college is pushing harder than the other. Freeze is holding a couple aces in his hand in terms of offers; however, he wishes to keep them private until he feels comfortable in making an announcement. In terms of camps and combines, Freeze is prepared to attend the East Carolina, James Madison, Appalachian State, and Elon one-day camps. He is also open to attending camps and combines from colleges wishing to purse interest. Look for more to come from Julian Freeze and the Landstown Eagles as the off season continues to progress.
