Nansemond Suffolk junior Tavon Askew will take an unofficial visit to Elizabeth City State next week. He’ll also visit Lees-McRae on June 13.
A native of Ahoskie, North Carolina, Askew transferred to NSA during the 2014 offseason, has seen his recruiting process pick up in recent weeks, garnering extended interest from Chowan and Grambling State, who was able to come into the Hampton Roads area and sign freshman guard Nigel Ribeiro last season. Randolph Macon College has also sent coaches to evaluate Askew.
“I really like Cowan and Elizabeth City programs. I have a visit scheduled for June 13 to Lees-McRae and next week to Elizabeth City State,” Askew added.
Delaware State, Hampton, The Citadel and University of Maryland-Eastern Shore are just a fraction of the schools also showing interest in the Nansemond-Suffolk guard who has recovered nicely from a earlier knee injury to have good showings during the live period.
“Chowan and Grambling have been the two schools following me the most during he live period. Right now, I’m just working on my strength and conditioning and ball handling.
