Carlisle School point guard Rasir Bolton is fast-rising in recruiting circles nationally, picking up interest from the University of Mississippi recently. The 6-foot-2 rising junior should garner even more recruiting attention heading into the 2016 season.
Bolton, a four-star recruit according to the latest ESPN rankings, has offers from Cincinnati, East Carolina, Hampton, ODU, Richmond, VCU and Virginia Tech to go along with the most recent from Ole Miss. He also mentions ODU, Tech and Ole Miss as schools that are showing the most interest at this point in his recruitment. A string of high-scoring performances to start his sophomore season at Carlisle, including 31-point, 5-rebound and 5-assist performance against eventual national champ Oak Hill Academy, which helped ease Bolton onto the national radar. Bolton also had a pair of 37-point scoring onslaughts to add to his 2015,reel. From there, Bolton’s stock has steadily risen with schools like Florida and UVA showing early interest.
The Class of 2018 standout was also a member of the Team Loaded VA 17U squad that competed in the Adidas Uprising Championships in Las Vegas last month. The team advanced to the final four in the tournament, thanks in large part to Bolton, who lit up Dreamn Vision for 29 points in the Sweet 16 round. Loaded also featured big-time prospects in Blue Ridge forward Aamir Simms, Norfolk Academy junior big David McCormack and Woodson guard Kiyon Boyd, with the latter two cracking ESPN’s Top 60 rankings earlier this summer.
