Just last week Janaz Jordan picked up his first offer. It didn’t take too long before he second offer came rolling in. Jordan has been in contact with Hampton University for some time now as the Pirates have been recruiting heavily on a local level. Coach Marc Bacote got in contact with the Bethel product and informed him the Pirates wanted Jordan to be a vital part of their defensive line next season. Jordan now holds offers from Virginia Tech and Hampton University. Although Jordan feels as though these offers should’ve came through during his junior year he’s still optimistic of what’s to come.
“This process has been rough,” stated Jordan. “These are both offers I should’ve received during my junior season. This whole process has been a rough and rocky road. I’m using all of this as motivation and it makes me want to work that much harder. I need to make sure over the next couple of months I get both stronger and faster for this level and the next level.”
Jordan continues: “Coach Marc Bacote hit me up on Twitter and let me know that Hampton wanted to offer me. He also told me that the defensive coordinator really wanted me on his defensive line. They really liked my highlights and that’s what led me to getting this offer. I’ve been talking to Hampton for about a year now and it’s truly a blessing for me to get this offer. I’m looking for a lot more offers to start coming in.”
Outside of Virginia Tech and Hampton, Jordan is getting interest from: Old Dominion University, James Madison University, and Norfolk State University. NSU has started to fall off as of late and Jordan is anticipating ODU making a move in the near future.
Jordan is looking to make his way back onto the football field early next week. The rising senior was has been out of practice since the start of the season on July 28 for not having his physical in time. The faster he’s able to take care of business the faster Jordan will be able to make an impact on the football field. The Bruins are also anticipating his arrival as he’s expected to contribute on both sides of the ball this season. The Bethel product has dedicated this past summer to working out and playing a little tight end during 7-on-7s the Bruins participated in. Jordan has also been working on his technique off the line as his expectations are higher now more than ever.
“First we need to win as many games as we can so we can make it to the playoffs. Next we need to dominate in the playoffs so we can bring home a state championship to Bethel,” added Jordan.
The Bethel Bruins finished 6-5 last season and are looking to make the playoffs for a third consecutive season.
