One senior, one freshman, both offered by the WVU Mountaineers

There are two lessons here.
1. It’s never too early to make a great impression.
2. It’s never too late to make a big impact.
Bishop Sullivan freshman Sheridan Jones (FR CB 6-1 170) and senior Chris Hunt (SR S 6-1 190) have enticed the West Virginia Mountaineers to pursue them and offer a college scholarship. The offers came to the Crusader duo on Wednesday night, just a little more than a week into preseason practices.
Jones is already seeing big time colleges offer scholarships. For him, West Virginia is in early, and that could make a difference in successfully recruiting him.
Hunt is entering his senior year and WVU is by most measures his biggest offer yet. That could quickly swing his recruitment in favor of the Mountaineers.
For both athletes, the offers are welcome news.
WVU Assistant Logan Williams made a request for Hunt to call, and Chris was thrilled about what he heard.
“I called and they said they’d love for me to join them my next four years and they’re proud to offer me,” Hunt stated. “I loved it (when I visited). Everyone treated me well and their fans show A LOT of love.”
Bishop Sullivan visited West Virginia for their 7 on 7 tournament in June and the Crusaders won the whole thing. That was impressive for the coaching staff at WVU.
“(That visit) was great. I loved everything about it from the field to the weight room and even the coaches,” said Jones.
Chris Hunt’s offer list consists of East Carolina, Charlotte and now West Virginia. When asked about committing, Hunt confirmed that he had not set a date and that his recruitment is still open at this time.
Jones has a rich list for a freshman, including Virginia Tech, Florida, Tennessee, Maryland and WVU. Sheridan played his freshman year at Norview, then reclassified upon reaching Bishop Sullivan earlier this year.
