Following a week that saw Old Dominion women’s head coach Karen Barefoot host the Lady Monarchs’ annual high school team camp which preceded an elite girls camp on Sunday, Barefoot and the Monarchs finally got their first glimpse at the team’s 2016-17 nonconference schedule on Wednesday.
ODU will open the season on November 1st with a exhibition contest against Davis & Elkins before the regular season opener against Norfolk State on Friday, November 18. Both games will be played at the Ted Convocation Center. The Lady Monarchs will host William & Mary just two nights later, before traveling to Durham, NC for a November 22nd matchup with Duke. The Blue Devils will play at ODU next season as apart of a home-and-home series agreement. ODU will also travel to Winter Park, FL for the Florida Sunshine Classic in December.
ODU returns its entire roster, minus one, from last year’s team that advanced to the Conference USA championship game, including leading scorer Jennie Simms. For a look at the Lady Monarchs’ complete 2016-17 nonconference schedule, please visit www.odusports.com
